How do find a good hair salon when you move to another city?

I have moved to another city and I would like to find a good hair salon. How do I know if I found a good one. What are some things I should look for in the stylist(s) and within the salon that lets me know that my hair will be properly taken care of?How do find a good hair salon when you move to another city?
(1) Ask people about their reputation as a salon.

(2) Are you looking for salons that do funky cuts %26amp; color, or are you more conservative?

(3) Have a consultation. Take pictures of the hair cut or color that you want %26amp; see if the stylist %26amp; you are on the same page.

(4) I think price kind of helps me know what kind of salon they are. If they have cheap cuts then they probably have stylist that are more new to the business. They may not be able to do fresh, new styles like a trendy, more expensive salon might.

(5) A middle-of-the-road place I go to in Kansas City is called Beauty Brands. Cuts starting at around $40+ and colors about $60+.

(6) I would still try to find someone that has been in the business a long time, and/or one that has been at a particular salon for a long time. This says a lot for me.How do find a good hair salon when you move to another city?

Well, first of all, I would ask some of the women you've met since you moved there who they reccommend. Next, when you visit a Salon, look to see what type of products they use. Make sure they use professional hair care products. Next, talk to your stylist and get a feel for them. See if they are willing to listen to you and work with you for a hairstyle that is you and not what THEY want it to be.

good luck!
Just go around and watch people coming out of salons. If you like their hair it's a good one.
Ask somebody there, be friendly. they sure know everything there!
First of all, word of mouth is the best advertising. Ask around. Secondly, if you notice a really good hair style on someone, ask them where they go.You will know when you find a good one when as soon as you walk in, the stylist is focased on you and you only. You have her undivided attention. You don't want one that is cutting your hair, talking to someone else, and oops, there goes your ear. When you do pick a stylist, notice her hair, and her appearance. That says alot. Would you want somebody to do your hair when they just have a basic ponytail, and look awful. Another thing to consider is her manners. If she is gossipy about other clients, imagine what she is saying about you when you leave. I do not see the difference in price, it is just the name. A $15 cut, and a $100 cut. Both stylists went to school, there is no special school, that is called butter fingers. I notice that alot, and had to redo them expensive hair cuts, and colours. Find somebody who you can connect to, and have a bond. And do not get your hair done, if she or he is having a bad day, you could get the brunt end of things.
CALL LOCAL BEAUTY SCHOOL AND THEY CAN DIRECT YOU
The best way ..Is to ask other women , espically if they have the same type or style of hair that you do.. Good Luck!
ask people whose hair u like where they go.ask for their stylists names. you can never tell what will happen to your hairby lookin at a stylist or a salon..you need to see what they are producin...look at their clients..!!
