Why am i scared of hair salons?

I鈥檓 serious, every time i go to get my haircut i get really uncomfortable and like agitated. I find it so painful that i sometimes wish i would die! Arr but I want to have my haircut like really badly but this problem stops me. I've never had a bad in-counter with having a haircut and I don't have any other fears except this one. Why am I scared of this?

I have that problem too because I think the stylist is judging me. So maybe you aren't confident about how you look? I'm sorry, if you go to a really good salon you shouldn't have that problem.. the comfortable chairs help you relax more. Try looking up salons in your state online to see their customer reviews..Why am i scared of hair salons?
Honestly I am too, because of negative personal experience. I have really curly hair and a lot of hair ';professionals'; will claim to know how to work with a hair type or how to style/cut it even if they do not because it is how they earn an income.





Also even if you bring in a pic of what you want your hair to look like (which i did every time) there is a good chance they may not get it right.





I once overheard a woman who claimed to be a hair dresser tell a woman with a child with thick curly hair to apply petroleum jelly to it to moisturize it, which is horrible because 10min of research online or simply asking a dermatologist will tell you that petroleum and mineral oil based products are terrible for skin and hair!





Bottom line is that many (but not all) hair dressers are simply taught to be salesmen for the overpriced and often unnecessary ';specialty'; concoctions and chemical treatments they offer $$$.





Your better off buying your hair care products from a health/natural market and researching how to naturally care for your own hair through reading material (books, online) just so you can avoid any unnecessary hair tragedy's.
maybe youre really attatched to your hair. or maybe you dont like being surrounded by people you dont know. idk but if you really want to get your hair cut youre gonna have to suck it up and go. otherwise have a family member cut it for you
