How come my hair salon only accepts cash tips?

Is this so they can embezzle the government? You know, say that they only received a 5% tip when they actually received 20%? Or do they have to pay more for a credit card machine that has a tipping function?How come my hair salon only accepts cash tips?
It could be to finagle on taxes but more likely it's the transaction fees involved. The fees are charged on the total dollar amount charged, so it would be 3-4% on the tip amount too if you charged the tip. So salons have to eat the percentage charged on the tip, or reduce the tip by the fee, and the sylists don't like that. They want the full tip so that's likely why they want the tip as cash.How come my hair salon only accepts cash tips?
