Short hair is just trashed but the long hair is used to make wigs!!!!What happens to waste hair from hair salons and doggie parlors?

Yep. In the garbage. A friend had a barber shop. Now when mine is cut, I donate it to locks for love.

Most is just trashed, but some, believe it or not, is sold. Human hair is one of those things that help keep wildlife away from plants so some salons actually sell it for that purpose.

The hair from dog groomers is usually discarded unless the customer specifically requests that it be saved or someone has otherwise gotten an ';in'; with the groomer.





Longer clean dog's hair is a fine supply for spinners. Husky hair is about as warm as angora rabbit and isn't as apt to felt. Poodle makes a nicely textured yarn too.





Even Angora cat's undercoat can be spun into a soft lace-weight yarn.





Usually, however, it's trashed.
my mums a hairdresser and it goes in the bin at least that is what she does hope this helped.
