It depends on where you live. I know in Michigan there isn't any. The best advice I can give you is look for a Beauty Supply Store- like Sally's or something equivalent. Buy the best matching extensions there, and take them to the salon and have them give you their opinion.

But u can definitely go to a hair salon and get it done. Ur paying the same money everyone else is so they can't discriminate agains u being a man. Call around to a few salons and hear what they say. It def shouldnt be a problem.

Just buy one, its unlikely that any hair salon would just give one out. It doesn't hurt to ask tho. Just a precaution - If you do get one, it may not be in that good of shape and thats why they are giving it to you.

Definitely. I've been taking my BF to my stylist for roller sets for over a year (his hair's all one length, right at his shoulders). She loves doing him. From my experience of going to the aveda academies for haircuts, they have overall been very good. I think they also get better training in terms of customer relations and service. I do not believe that one is better than the other. I used to be an instructor at a beauty school in Minnesota. You have to pass tests, both written and hands on to even become an instuctor. The state of Minnesota has to teach the same ciriculum to every student passing through, so I don't see how one is better than another. I believe you would be paying extra for a name. Are Dominican hair salons REALLY good with black hair?
Aight, well I'm an African-American girl, and I start school on Mon, so I decided to get my hair done at a Dominican Salon for the first time this Friday..I THINK they're gonna do a wash n set..But will they really be able to handle my hair?
I've had a few relaxers before, but its been a while since my last one [January], n the reason I haven't had one since is because the last one damaged the HELL outta my hair, n I've only been to the salon once since then. So I decided NEVER to get a relaxer again, and I heard that Domincans can get your hair nice straight w/o using alot of strong chemicals. But I want to know if they can handle my hair, its alittle past my shoulder, very damaged from the last relaxer, alot of new growth, and there are also alot of short spots becuase the last relaxer burnt some hair outta my hair in random spots...
So please post all of your info/experiences ect. w/ Domincan Salons,, also how are they differnt from Black salons?...I WANT MY HAIR TO LOOK NICE FOR BACK TO SCHOOL! Are Dominican hair salons REALLY good with black hair?
Dominicans salons are GREAT w/ african american hair. Mainly because in the Dominican the hair texture ranges just like w/ Afro hair from stick straight to kinky coils. The Dominican stylists are trained to work w/ your natural texture. THe will blow your roots straight, although they do use a lot of heat, your hair will look like its been relaxed except no harsh chemicals. Are Dominican hair salons REALLY good with black hair?

The haircuts at the beauty collage I frequent are only $4 ...and $2 on Wednesdays! I tip well.

yes they do! they have big books full of little samples of colored hair[how they know what color to dye peoples hair] and what color it is called! then they mix it up to get the color and bam you got it :]Do all hair salons carry blue hair dye?
No not any old salon has the vivid colors you are looking for. There is a professional product called Pravana Vivids. They are the only permanent color line to carry colors of that nature, the other color lines carry ';additives'; which you mix with a base color, they are not what you are looking for or they are semi permanent as in Manic Panic (over the counter) and Inkworks (Paul Mitchell) Prizms (Matrix).
From personal experience, and as a stylist I recommend that you call a few salons and ask them if they do those colors make sure that you tell them you want a permanent color or else you will get a semi permanent and it will fade out with in a week. My salon is the only one in the Tampa Bay, Florida region that carrys such colors. So just play it on the safe side can make a call with the right questions.

The hair from dog groomers is usually discarded unless the customer specifically requests that it be saved or someone has otherwise gotten an ';in'; with the groomer.
Longer clean dog's hair is a fine supply for spinners. Husky hair is about as warm as angora rabbit and isn't as apt to felt. Poodle makes a nicely textured yarn too.
Even Angora cat's undercoat can be spun into a soft lace-weight yarn.
Usually, however, it's trashed.

The know the latest and the best things to do to hair. They are students in training, but they are all overseen by a licensed professional. I would totally check it out. If you're a little skeptical, call the school and ask what the name of the owner's salon is called. They also have a really amazing salon but very pricey. Hopefully this helps a bit! good luck!

Ask friends and neighbors. Also, if you see someone with great hair, ask where they got it done, chances are they will be flattered. I was always so afraid to ask my daughter's stepmom where she got her hair done because I thought she would be offended. I was spending hundreds on mine, and hers always looked so much better. the best bet would be to go to your local big salon and go in and ask them if they would do them for you

Why are hydraulic couches and beds useful in hair salons?
They make it easy to put the client in a comfortable working position for the stylist. Hairdressers are regular bad back sufferers due to poor working positions. Hydraulic seating and couches are easy to adjust to the different heights that individual stylists are.

Doria is excellent but VERY expensive. Hair cuts start at $45.
They service is very good and they give you coffee, fruit flavoured water and neck massages. def. a bonus.

I live in Arlington, VA. I have lived here almost a year and I still cannot find a hair stylist who can also do african american hair. All I want is a shampoo, trim, and flat iron. I do not want a relaxer or weave and the only places I find are those for weave. I also find places where they will take hours and hours when all I want is a shampoo. Well unfortuantely there are not too many good, professional salons for us in Kansas City. I've since moved from Kansas City, but I had a good experience with an african american stylist at Mario Tricoci on the Plaza. Its a bit pricy, but she was very good. The stylist's name was Amina, I'm not sure if she's still there. I'm not sure if they do extentions, though. If all you want is a ponytail, I suggest going to a quality beauty supply store that sells human hair, and asking a friend whose opinion you trust to help you pick something out. If all else fails, you can stop everyone you see (strangers included) whose hair you like and ask who styled it. Hope this helps!

I think permanently straightening my hair would do me a lot of good since I never style my hair even though it makes me look so dull because I never have time. Okay i myself also live in Australia in Brisbane i'm not quite sure what state Erina is in so i can't help you with that but in Brisbane i've found a few different places..
So there's a few that will pierce your lip at 16 youngest without parental concent and also a few places that don't need a specific age.
I've gone to a place in the city for my bellybutton and tragus and when i get my tongue pierced it's where i'll go and you don't need parental concent no matter what your age unless you want a ' private ' piercing and then you have to be 18.
www.thepiercingplace.com.au is there website and they're very clean and sterile and not seedy or something like you'd expect for people who pierce you at nearly any age without concent. If you don't live in Brisbane which i'm sure you probably don't hit your local city you'll find that they have TONS of piercing places so if you just call around a bit you'll find one faster than you may think !

I don't know the history but since they are open Tuesday through Sunday, it stands to reason that they would be closed on Sunday(for religous purposes) and on Monday to give thier staff two days off in a row.

I always get my nails done at the place in Padre Staples Mall called Romantic Nails. They are affordable and great quality. For hair, Bella Bella is an amazing salon. Definitely check it out.

i'm from new orleans and i live in baton rouge now, and every hair salon i go to no one or only one person does straw curls and that person is never there. i don't see whats they big deal, i know it takes a while to set but i've seen people get regular curls and be there for hours. its not that hard. just about everyone in new orleans did them. ugh i'm frustated.Why Do So Many Hair Salons Not Wanna Do Straw Curls?

I dont know about Dominican but if you have curly type hair, go to Yehia %26amp; Co Hair Designs in Hyde Park. For real, people walk in looking like Jay Z and walk out looking like Beyonce. They do a lot of interracial tectured hair which is similar to Dominican hair and trust me they are fantabulous!

If you can't get down to Redondo -- I don't know if May has done this haircut before, but she's really good, lots of friends go to her who can afford ritzy salons, and I've seen her do all kinds of styles. Drive by when she's there and take the instructions and ask her. Her prices are quite reasonable. The salon is in that mini-mall where the el pollo loco is.

I'm from the East Coast and saw this salon on TV, on the show Split Ends. I'm a total rockabilly, 1940s and 50s addict and I'm going to travel across the country to go to this salon! They specialize in retro styles. It's in Redondo Beach, I have no idea how close this is.

Let me explain the key differences....
If the hair salon is a sole trader then that salon is the personal property of its owner. All money in the till, all money owed to it and all money it owes are one and the same as its owner.
If the hair salon is a private limited company (note that PLC is public limited company- ie shares publicly traded) then all of this money belongs to the company, with a separation between it and its owner.
Around 50% of salons will be limited companies. If a limited company is too small and with few assets it is extremely difficult to get any sort of credit (i.e. trading accounts or loans) which can stifle the business.Are local hair salons a soletrader or a Limited Private Company?
