How do I find a new hair salon when I just moved to the area?

I have lived in CT for over a year and have had my hair messed up by 3 difference places. I dont know what to do. I dont know anyone to ask. Is there a review place for beauty salons I dont know about? How do I find a new hair salon when I just moved to the area?
I'm not sure about a review place or anything, but word of mouth will get you one of the best salons you can ask for!

Try looking around in the stores you go to or the mall or something. If you see someone's hair you like a lot, don't be shy, ask them who did it? They'll like the compliment, and since stylists usually give their customers a discount for referrals, they will probably be glad to tell you anyway!

Or, you could try asking some of the people you work with at your new job. Even if people don't know you personally, if you seem to like their hair, you may become their new friend!!

Wish ya well! How do I find a new hair salon when I just moved to the area?
Try family haircut or try asking around in your neighborhood. You just have to keep trying until you find the right hair stylist for you. You also need to make sure you are telling the stylist exactly what you want. Just pointing to a picture and saying, ';Make me look like this!'; isn't acceptable. Your face shape and type and texture of hair will greatly influence how the end result turns out.

Hope this helps!
Look through the phone book and choose like 10 salons...Call each and set up a client consultation...Visit one weekend and see which ones you get the best vibes from... good luck!!
When I was new to town I tried something similar to Benny. I looked in the phone book and picked out a few with the biggest ads. My theory was that the bigger the ad, the more money they make, so they should be good salons! Then I called a few and found out prices and information. Then I took the top 3 and tried to talk to a few people to see if they knew anything about those places. Good luck!! I know how awful it is to have your hair messed up!!!
Hi there!

I live in CT, I could recommend a few places. In Meriden, Salon Josef is AWESOME. He's done some famous people at the casinos and the prices are reasonable. I had my hair done at Richard Penna's in Hamden, too, they were okay but expensive.Their salon used to do Sally Jesse Raphael's hair. If you are close to those areas give them a try.

Best wishes,

Trish
