How old do you need to be to work at a hair salon?

I am 16, and i am looking for my first job. I thought a beauty salon or hair salon would be a good idea, so i was looking to apply there, but i dont know if i am old enough. If i am, what are my job options at a place like that and would i get hired if i have no previous job experience?

In some states you can be hired as a receptionist at 16, but a lot of times they hire students in cosmetology school so that they can get experience. Working at a restaurant is usually a good option of you have no experience, fast food or a host at a sit down restaurant.
You'd probably get stuck sweepin' up the hair.
